The Syrian States Awaken[1]

After enduring catastrophes in Cilicia, Alexandretta, and Palestine, the Syrian states began to recognize the importance of unity, as emphasized by the Syrian Social National movement. They acknowledged their shared destiny and the necessity of establishing and consolidating ties.

Following the coup in al-Sham, efforts were made to strengthen relations between al-Sham and Mesopotamia. Recently, Iraq's Prime Minister visited Damascus to discuss a blueprint for mutual understanding with senior figures of the new Syrian government. This plan also includes Lebanon.

This development signifies that governments in geographic Syria are becoming aware of their people's needs. Their "state policy" has now reached a critical stage, which may significantly impact international issues.

The growing Jewish threat along the borders of Syrian states has alerted both the people and their governments to the Syrian Social National standpoint. The Jewish presence in Palestine endangers not just 'Arabia' or Egypt, but primarily the Syrian nation's existence.

The Zionist cause threatens all of natural Syria. The Jews aim to expand until controlling natural Syria and establishing a powerful state. Once accomplished, they will look to colonize other nations.

In this context, the reactionary mentality in Lebanon has displayed an unusual approach grounded in a theocratic perspective. This outlook embraces the concept of a Jewish state alongside a Christian one without adequate foresight or consideration.

Lebanon is closest to Jewish ambitions; therefore, Zionist propaganda attempts to undermine ties with its Syrian hinterland. Intriguingly, Jewish strategists have drawn inspiration from foreign occupation successes to propagate their religious state agenda via broadcasting from Tel Aviv and other means.

The reactionary isolationist sector struggles to comprehend national objectives and broader societal concerns. As a result, they work tirelessly to solidify sectarian forces around a detrimental idea of a religious state while seeking alliances or collaboration with Lebanon's adversaries – ultimately leading to Lebanon's annexation by Israel.

The primary goal of this elaborate plan is to surround the Christians, particularly the Maronites, with a veil of hostility, pushing them towards "Israel" for protection from Muslims who are deemed impossible to coexist with. The proponents of religious nationalism might have succeeded in implementing this plan if not for the presence of the Social National movement and the deeply rooted belief in a nation-state over a religious state among countless individuals striving to save the nation from reactionary forces and their bleak vision for our future.

The formation of the Social National movement signaled a war against these reactionary elements. Recognizing the seriousness of this challenge, they found themselves with no option but to fight, ultimately resorting to forming alliances with Jews against both Lebanon and greater Syria. If only Syrian states had listened earlier, there would have been no need for multiple ceasefires in Palestine, and Syrian-Palestinians would not have been forced from their homes as refugees.

It is doubtful that Reaction and Colonialism, even with renewed fervor, can halt the progress of the Social National movement towards final victory. Lebanon has been roused by our renaissance's call and has come to understand that Syrian nationalism is not a menace; rather, the Social National movement represents an authentic Lebanese force derived from and dedicated to its people. It is crucial for Lebanon to cooperate with other Syrian states and coordinate efforts in order to counter external threats against our nation. There is no future for Lebanon in "religious nationalism" or reactionary agendas; its only hope lies in the Social National renaissance.
