Since the gaining of independence in 1943, Lebanon has been
engulfed in protracted and continuous crisis. Indeed, no state has received so
many negative descriptive terms like the Lebanese one. In terms of its status,
the Lebanese state has been described as precarious, stillborn, and always at
crossroads. As a country, Lebanon
was seen as fragmented, fractured-and chaotic. In political terms, Lebanese
politics has been one of conflict, violence and curse. Worse still, at a
certain point of time the state was considered as an improbable one.
